MHI Aircon for iPhone & iPad
MHI Aircon talks to your Mitsubishi Heavy Industries WF-RAC air conditioners over your own Wi-Fi network. There is no account, no cloud service, and no server of ours in between.
Everything the app remembers is written to storage on your own device. None of it is transmitted to the developer, and none of it is shared with third parties.
| What | Where it lives | Leaves your device? |
|---|---|---|
| Air conditioners you have paired | App storage on your device — the unit's local IP address and its WF-RAC identifiers | Stays on device |
| Names you give your units | App storage on your device, so "Bedroom" survives a restart | Stays on device |
| Operator ID | App storage on your device — a random identifier the WF-RAC protocol requires when registering with a unit. Not tied to you, and not used for tracking | Stays on device |
| Trial start date and unlock status | The iOS Keychain, so the free trial is not reset by deleting and reinstalling the app | Stays on device |
| Your device's local IP address | Held in memory only while a scan runs, to work out which addresses on your Wi-Fi network to check | Never stored |
| One-time purchase | Handled entirely by Apple's In-App Purchase system | Handled by Apple |
You can erase all of it at any time by deleting the app, with one exception noted below.
On first use, iOS asks whether MHI Aircon may find and connect to devices on your local network. The app needs this for one reason: to discover WF-RAC units by scanning addresses on the Wi-Fi network you are connected to, and then to send commands to them at http://<unit>:51443.
That traffic goes from your phone to your air conditioner and back. It does not pass through the internet, and it does not reach the developer. If you decline the permission, the app cannot find your units.
MHI Aircon includes a free trial followed by a single one-time unlock, sold through the App Store. Apple processes the transaction and Apple is the party that sees your payment details — the developer never receives your card number, billing address, or Apple ID.
The app asks Apple's In-App Purchase system whether your Apple ID owns the unlock, and records the yes-or-no answer in the Keychain so the app keeps working when it is offline. Apple's handling of purchase data is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy.
The trial start date and unlock flag are stored in the iOS Keychain, which by design is not removed when you delete the app. To clear them as well, delete the app and then sign out of iCloud Keychain, or contact the developer.
MHI Aircon is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Data protection law — including the GDPR and the CCPA — gives you rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data. Those rights are straightforward here: the developer holds no personal data about you, so there is nothing to hand over or erase on request. The data the app stores is on your device and under your control, and deleting the app removes it.
If a future version of the app changes what it stores or where that data goes, this page will be updated and the effective date above will change. Material changes will also be described in the app's release notes on the App Store.
